Roux /roo/ is the start of all good things.
It is annual celebration of dinners, brunches, parties, panels, a citywide guide of food-centric experiences with women at the helm. Designed for inspiration, connection all over a good meal.
Every October in Portland, OR, we invite food lovers, the culinary curious and anyone looking for IRL community to celebrate food, drink and our favorite ingredient (women!). Join us!

THE FOUNDERS
Hi! It’s us!
Roux came to life in 2019 by House of Commons owners, Delia Tethong and Jenna Winkler (probably over baked goods) after countless conversations of wishing for an event highlighting more of their favorite, underrepresented talent in food and beverage. With over two decades of combined experience in hospitality, events, retail, restaurants and production they decided to bring that vision to life.
Why the name Roux?
In cooking, Roux is the flour and butter base for all the best dishes. Truly, the start of all good things. With the women in this community, we’re building that base.
